Margoa (Goa)

This is a stretch of land jutting into the sea upon which lies the ruins of a Portuguese fort. From here there is a spectacular view of the coastline to the north including Colva beach.  The fort was under control of Portuguese since 1763. In 1797 the British army occupied this fort. In 1955 this fort was used to house a prison, and now a days now remains is a government post. There is a small church within the walls of the fort. One can easily approach Cabo De Rama Fort. There are regular buses from Margao (KTC stand).
